The grand finale of a long-running live storytelling competition. Ten of Vancouver's best writers and performers tell original stories and compete for the title of 2026 Storytelling Champion. Winner selected by audience vote.
Founded in 2004, Vancouver Story Slam is the longest-running live storytelling event of its kind in Canada - and the second-longest-running in the world! Throughout the year, over 100 people sign up to share their original writing live onstage. Audience members vote for their favourite stories; top storytellers are invited to participate in this, the annual championship. Almost $3,000 in cash prizes are awarded annually.
As this is the finale of a year-long competition, the storytellers will be announced closer to the show date.
Vancouver Story Slam has been featured in the Vancouver Sun, The Province, and on CBC Radio.
