Calling all Hackers…better yet! MachoHackers!‍By now, you have most likely heard one of many descriptions of what Blockchain is, how it is used and the power it holds towards the digital future. The technology provides and enables distributed autonomous marketplaces, reduces friction in business transactions, manages and secures decentralized private records from encryption to tracking the provenance of products and materials. But this is just the tip of the iceberg! It is clear that this will play a huge part of how the digital world will evolve, weaving blockchain technology into the fabric of our daily lives.

The 48 Hours


Join us this July for two great days where you’ll explore and build the next generation of blockchain design and applications.


Date: Friday, July 13th
Agenda: Friday, July 13th
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Registration
6:00 pm - 6:30 pm: Mix and mingle
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm: Dinner and planning, form into groups etc. 
7:30 pm - 8:00 pm - Machobear Studios to introduce the event, set expectations, go over PRIZE details etc.
8:00 pm, Friday, July 13th -  5:00 pm, Sunday, July 15th  - Get your MachoHack'in on!

5:00 pm - Hackathon finishes. 
6:00 pm - Winners announced.

1st Prize - $10,000 CAD + 6 months designated office space (conditions apply)
2nd Prize - $2, 000 CAD + 3 months designated office space (conditions apply)
3rd Prize - $1,000 CAD 

FAQs
Who should attend?
You! Attendees include developers, engineers, and entrepreneurs. Are you interested in solving real-life problems and creating innovative solutions? You love to code, think outside of the box and are passionate about collaborating with like-minded superstars!
Why attend?
You will develop new skills and connect with a variety of industry leaders and innovators. You will be building something amazing and of course network with everyone who attends. Machobear Studios (host of this event) will also be there to provide you more information about who we are. Everyone who participates will be up for prizes, all of which includes cash and more!
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is paid street parking available in addition to valet parking. Public transportation is also available. Please visit: https://tripplanning.translink.ca/ to plan the best route. 
What do I need to bring? What will be provided by Machobear Studios?
You need to bring your own laptop and charger. 
Machobear Studios will be providing the spectacular venue, all your meals/snacks/refreshments, work tables, chairs, extension cords, stationary supplies, wifi and other general supplies to set you up for success. 
What can I bring to the event?
Meals, snacks, and refreshments will be provided throughout the 48-hour event. Alcohol is not permitted inside the hotel during the event. You may bring your own food, snacks, and refreshments to enjoy as well. 
What if I want to sleep and/or nap?
You may want some time to rest your eyes, feel free to bring your sleeping bag to the event as it will run for 48 hours. Attendees are welcome to leave and return to the venue as you please, however, please note the clock will keep ticking. For you out-of-towners, you may want book a room at the Westin Bayshore Hotel. What's the refund policy?
You have 7 days prior to the event for a refund.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, you must bring a printed copy of your ticket. 
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, please login to your Eventbrite account to make any changes. 
 Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Your ticket cannot be transferable. 
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
The name on the ticket must match the person who attends. Please bring in your government issued identification for verification.
