All proceeds support Doctors Without BordersAbout this EventAs the holiday season begins, many of us celebrate with gifts and family gatherings — but not everyone in the world is as fortunate. Sudan is currently experiencing a widespread conflict, triggered on April 15, 2023, when intense fighting broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum. The violence has spread across the country, killing thousands and forcing millions from their homes, leaving nearly 25 million people in humanitarian need.Let’s Talk Women of Color invites you to an open mic and music event to bring our community together to reflect on love, resistance, and identity, while raising awareness about the Sudan crisis. Preformers can present poetry, play music (a piano is available in the space) sing, deliver a speech etc. This is a safe space to use your creativity to support an important cause. We are using St. Helen's Anglican Church space for this event, however, the event itself is non-religious. All ticket proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to support their life-saving work on the ground. Tickets can be bought by donation, however, we recommend attendees pay minimum 5$.If you would like to sign up as a preformer, please sign up using the following form.
