Liars of Orpheus: Movie Stars

Liars of Orpheus is a kids show for adults where writers produce small lectures on strange topics. This month, writers will be creating fun work on Myths and Lore. They win points from bootlegging their truths past their opponents or having their lies mistaken for truths. You can call it literary comedy or an excuse to eat chocolate outside of the house. You can say it’s a slapstick slam where the points don’t matter, if you wish. What you can never say is that its tepid or plain.

This episode of Liars of Orpheus entitled Myths and Lore features David Geary, Erin Kirsh, Jarrett Hagglund and Warren Dean Fulton.

David Geary (Taranaki Māori) grew up loving Māui trickster tales in Aotearoa New Zealand and is now honoured to live with the Coyote and Raven tricksters of Turtle Island. David is a playwright, screenwriter, fiction writer, poet and educator.He teaches scriptwriting at Capilano University and playwriting for PTC Playwrights Theatre Centre. He's a dramaturg (LMDA - Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas) and script consultant for theatre, TV and Film. He writes haiku on twitter @gearsgeary and lives by the yogic mantra: Life is short, stretch it.

Erin Kirsh is an award-winning writer, performer, and funnyman from Toronto. Her writing has appeared in publications such as The Malahat Review, Cosmonauts Avenue, bBarren Magazine, Short Edition, CV2, ARC Poetry Magazine, QWERTY, Poetry is Dead, EVENT, PULP Literature, Geist and more.

Jarrett Hagglund is a co-op and community housing advocate who first started performing Stand-up comedy at the age of 17, he last performed stand-up ..... well it's been a bit.While progressive politics and housing issues may have taken him out of the comedy game, Jarrett believes that live performances are the greatest way to build not only community, but humanity. He also believes that laughter will save the world, or at least make it's downfall a little more enjoyable.

Off & on since 2002 Warren Dean Fulton has worked in the film & television industry of Hollywood North. Most recently Warren has been writing , producing and directing his own short films, as well as acting in indie film productions such as Desert Fiends, Devil's Knight and Camp Pleasant Lake, which have all had DVD/ Bluray releases and streamed on various streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Tubi and others."
