A past co-chair of Slow Food Vancouver, he has organized educational initiatives such as the Slow Food Cycle Tour and participated in farmers’ markets to promote greater awareness of quality food and sustainable food practices.Orazio was the owner of Scaldaferri Deli and Pasta Shop in West Vancouver and Scaldaferri Cheese and Wine Shop at Lonsdale Quay Market. Today, he produces extra virgin olive oil from his family’s olive estate in Calabria, in the Sibari area along the Ionian Sea, and distributes Orazio’s Olive Oil in Canada.His personal motto is: “Eat well.
