- **Event Description**: Just Dance invites you to its second annual celebration of Holi, the ancient Indian festival of colors that symbolizes the arrival of spring, the victory of good over evil, and the joy of love and friendship. 

To honor this beautiful March tradition, the evening will feature new music ranging from the more traditional Bhangra, to the wild and infectious Indian percussions, to the hypnotic Sanskrit infused music, as well as the many contemporary and powerful sounds of Indian music. 

While the two Just Dance co-resident DJs delight in inviting many talented guest DJs to share the decks for an evening, they also relish the experience of going solo as having a 3-hour musical arc gives them more freedom of creativity and expression.

DJ Abheeru will be on the decks for the entire dance. He will showcase the rich cultural heritage of India and also share deep, grooving and tribal sounds infused and inspired by the diverse musical traditions around the world. He will be selecting cuts from a palette of fresh global music and intuitively weave a unique full evening set for your dance odyssey.

Be prepared to experience a broad spectrum of tempo, rhythm and intensity in the sonic fabric. Expect to hear extravagant and exotic sounds from every continent, fused with hip-shakin' basslines and solid beats - a perfect synthesis of the traditional and contemporary.

To deepen our Holi theme, Just Dance is once again delighted to welcome Navin Sahjpaull who will facilitate a Sound Bath at the beginning of the night. He will contribute to the flavours of India with exquisite instrumentation and music.

Just Dance resident VJ Kashub will also add to this vivid celebration with lush, radiant and endlessly colorful visuals that will be crafting live to enhance our dancing delights.

As a twice a month event, many of our regulars do not RSVP on FB. As such, attendance is consistently much higher than what is reflected on the FB event page.

Just Dance is a nonprofit organization that thrives because of our volunteers. Helping for only 45 minutes gets you in for free and connects you with our other volunteers and core team. Abheeru has cultivated a profound and rapturous relationship to Global Fusion music, DJing, community service and dancing. As the founder of Just Dance, he has produced, promoted and DJed more than 600 events for over 55,000 dancers, all in the spirit of service as he has always wanted for JD to donate all of its proceeds to local charities and nonprofit groups. For over two decades, he has continued to innovate, inspire and promote new musical concepts for the Vancouver dance community.

As a DJ, Abheeru is known for taping into an extensive palette of genres and styles from far-reaching locations around the world. His main passion is to infuse and mix a wide range of musical organic elements and instruments from many diverse cultures and to blend those with delectable and powerful modern dance beats. The results are exquisitely creative dance sets that will keep your dancing soul and shoes happy.

:: NAVIN SAHJPAUL

Navin has been actively working as a Music Therapist (BMT) within Vancouver, BC, focusing on how music and sound can be utilized in therapeutic, healing environments in an effort to improve one's quality of life. Navin Sahjpaul is a Music Therapist (BMT), Certified Yoga Teacher and Artist (musician, writer). 

As a musician, Navin is a multi-instrumentalist who records, composes, and performs original music on his latest album release; Medicine Music. It consists of 26 original compositions that are designed to be used in conjunction with other healing modalities and serves as an album within which one can seek solace in, a place of calm away from the busyness and chaos of life, an auditory haven to be conducive for inner rest, stillness, and growth

Kashub's name stems from the tribe of his ancestry situated along what is now the Baltic Coast of Poland. The tribe, now dispersed and displaced, lived peacefully isolated amidst sand dunes and swamps along the Baltic since before the dawn of the State of the Teutonic Order some 800 years ago. VJ Kashub brings powerful visual projections to induce a spiritual scene so as to reacquaint long lost souls of his ancestry onto our dance floor.

Just Dance is a positive party community event. It offers a unique opportunity to dance to an eclectic selection of music from around the world. Held twice a month, Just Dance can be described as a refreshing alternative to the bar and club scene.
