A short but very important note about digital security and Dustcovery:
Greater Vancouver Interactive Arts Society (GVIAS) and the Dustcovery event producers will NEVER contact theme camps, art projects, DJs, or anyone asking for money in exchange for their participation in this event.
We won't be posting on the FB event saying "Space still available! PM me for details!!" or similar. Please be **extremely skeptical** of any unsolicited requests for "vending fees," "booth fees," or any similar "pay for participation" scenarios that scammers can come up with. Please don't sent money to people asking for such fees!
Everyone attending Dustcovery must buy their own ticket, which will be through a link publicly available on the Dustcovery website soon. That's the only "fee" -- your ticket!
Our Facebook event is public to promote radical participation, but that also means that sophisticated fraudsters can scan comments to find info for their targeted schemes. :(
If you see sketchy-seeming comments like this on the FB event page, please practice civic responsibility by right click on the comment and reporting it as a scam, and then go to the user's account and report them as scammers, too. Please tag the "GVIAS" account in the thread so that we can take care of deleting it if FB's AI review doesn't!
