Our Downtown Jazz Series is FREE!

Dawn Pemberton beats an adventurous path from gospel and R&B, to jazz, funk, and soul. The “go-to girl” for recording sessions and shows in need of irresistible verve and “honey-soaked pipes” (Vancouver Sun), she’s performed with Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, Bettye LaVette, Robert Randolph, and the Sojourners. Her award-winning debut album Say Somethin’ led Pop Forecast to put their chips on Pemberton becoming “the new queen of Canadian soul.”

With a tight, expressive band featuring Gavin Youngash (guitar), Mike Ardagh (drums), Max Zipursky (keys), and André Lachance (bass), Dawn will hit you where it counts, funk you up, and make you say Go ‘head!
