Cascadia Quilt Workshops
Brought to you by Fiddlesticks Quilt Shop and Ann Shaw Quilting, Cascadia Quilt Workshops is a two-day quilting workshop featuring Ann Shaw's new Artisan pattern, Dragonfly, and Cheran Bee's award winning traditional quilt pattern.
Workshop 1: Cheran Bee
This year, Cheran will be teaching her award-winning pattern Burgoyne Beauty. This quilt was awarded Second Place and Best Traditional Quilt in the 2017 Clark County Quilter's Show. This scrappy variation of Cheran's original pattern uses a variety of soft light prints with a punch of color. Cheran is the owner of Fiddlesticks Quilt Shop, which has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler Magazine.
Workshop 2: Ann Shaw
Ann Shaw is once again introducing a new pattern in her Artisan Quilt series - "Dragonfly." Dragonfly (Anisoptera) are wonders of nature. Strong, agile fliers, dragonflies dart effortlessly among stems and flowers. They move easily forward and backward, suddenly change direction, and even remain stationary in flight. Their two pairs of wings shimmer with iridescent, metallic-like colors that have long made them a favorite of quilters. Dragonflies are found throughout the world and in some cultures symbolize power and poise. This pieced pattern features this insect's beautiful iridescent wing color, with detailed piecing for experienced quilters. A brief discussion will introduce the methods and techniques for freezer paper templates. You will then prepare a freezer paper template for your pattern and begin the process of selecting fabrics for your design. If you prefer, you may select any of Ann Shaw's other patterns for this workshop.
