Appreciating connections between Birds, Plants, People, Places, and the importance of longstanding local knowledge for the future of these relationships.Yoko Tomita is a community artist and instructor of acrylic painting, sketching, drawing and water colour. She has led many community engaged art projects in East Vancouver for over 25 years, such as street banners, the fountain mosaic project, and community murals with multicultural participants. Each year during the Moon Festival and Winter Solstice Festival at Renfrew Park, you can see Yoko’s many unique lanterns on display.
