Fasting and sacrifices make our prayer much more effective! Join other young people in fasting and praying for those struggling with their mental health. We will also pray for world peace and your personal intentions.The program includes Masses, Adoration and Confession, social/bonding time, talks, group prayer, private prayer time, and group sharing. We will end the Fast with food and sharing of our experiences.VenueOn Friday evening, we will be in St. Mary's Parish, 5251 Joyce Street, VancouverOn Saturday, we will carpool to Westminster Abbey, Mission and spend a day there. We suggest fasting on bread and water or on liquid diet (eg. water with honey). If your health does not allow you to Fast the usual way, you may still participate by simply abstaining from some of your favorite foods, social media or your cell phone altogether. So, everyone can do it!What to bring?Bring photo ID, your own water bottle and food/beverages you're going to fast on.Who can join?Anyone between 19 - 39 years old may join us. If you're under 19 and are interested in joining, please contact us.Can I participate online?Yes. You can fast from anywhere you like, though we encourage you to attend the in-person portions of the event if you are able.How do participants help raise funds?Participants can ask for pledges. Donations will go to the ongoing operation of our ministry to serve the poor. Participants will receive their own fundraising pages which they can use to collect pledges.
