Across the years, Ken has shared his passion for learning and discovery through storytelling and music with an ever-growing circle of followers around the world. He has been performing for over 40 years in many different venues: churches, conventions, colleges, corporations and more, for groups ranging from 50 to 50,000 people. Though blind from birth, Ken sees and hears with heart and mind, singing stories from his audience and accenting topics such as our theme at the farm this year of "Coming Home." Ken's way of creating custom designs in every musical moment cannot be described but must truly be experienced. It will be so good to have him back and we hope you can join us.

As for food, Sister Grove Farm will provide an entree prepared by Chef James Harrison of Burnt by J.H. right here in Van Alstyne. As a community potluck, we hope you might bring a side dish, dessert, and/or a beverage of choice (alcoholic or otherwise) to add to the table. 

Portions of our time together will be outside so dress for the weather. When you arrive (at 5pm or a little earlier), check in at the Pavilion to drop off your food. Then meander though the garden as we will gather by the Yule Log to greet the night and seek its wonder.    

This will be the longest night of the year. The opening chapter of Genesis affirms that creation begins in darkness. Likewise, the Jesus story begins with angels appearing to shepherds in the dead of night - and stars in the sky whose announcement can be made visible only in darkness. Finally, it is in the embrace of the soil that a seed is held and nourished as it waits until the right time to germinate.
