**What is the Mt. Springs Community Seed Share/Swap?**
A seed share/swap is a fun gathering where local gardeners come together to **share seeds** — no money changes hands, all we ask is a donation to benefit the community center when you walk in the door.
Bring:
- Seeds you saved from your garden last season
- Extra packets from stores you won't use
- Heirloom, open-pollinated, or veggie/flower seeds you're happy to pass on
-any plants you’ve saved and are willing to share
-extra veggie starts when you have more than you can use
-a tote/sack to carry your treasures
Take home:
New-to-you varieties to try in your garden this year!
Even if you don't have seeds to share yet, you're very welcome to come browse, learn, chat with other gardeners, and pick up seeds to start your journey.
**Why we do this:**
- Save money on seeds/plants
- Preserve native, local & heirloom varieties
- Build community & swap growing tips
- Help make our gardens more diverse and resilient
**Basic Guidelines**
- Label your seeds/plants if possible (variety name + year saved is great)
- Small amounts are perfect (we usually do 5-10 seeds per packet/share)
- Open-pollinated & heirloom seeds are preferred (hybrids usually don't breed true)
- Be kind — this is a sharing event, not a competition!
Date/Time
The Mt Springs Community Garden Club Seed Swap is scheduled for February 7th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM or until all seeds/plants are gone.
