Maqbuda fin-nofs, Christine tispiċċa taffaċċja memorji tal-ħabiba tagħha tat-tfulija, Margaret, filwaqt li Dun Noel u Dun Clint jitħabtu biex isibu bilanċ bejn il-fidi tagħhom u l-aspettattivi tqal ta’ komunità maqsuma. Fost il-kaos annwali u l-ħeffa tal-umoriżmu ta’ Fredu, Ċama Ċama tiżvolġi bħala drama kontemporanja  kommoventi. Tesplora l-kumplessità tas-sens ta’ appartenenza u l-kuraġġ profond meħtieġ biex titkellem meta s-skiet jidher aktar faċli.

🇬🇧 As the Maltese summer heat settles over the village, the streets fill with the familiar rhythm of the festa! 🎆 Yet beneath the vibrant colours and music, tension simmers…

Decisions made behind closed doors have fractured the parish, sparking a debate between those embracing necessary change and those fearing the loss of cherished traditions. 

Caught in the crossfire, Christine is forced to confront memories of her childhood friend, Margaret, while Fr Noel and Fr Clint struggle to balance their faith with the heavy expectations of a divided community. Amidst the yearly chaos and the levity of Fredu’s humour, Ċama Ċama unfolds as a moving contemporary drama. It explores the complexities of belonging and the profound courage required to speak out when silence feels easier. 

Selected for the 2024 Studio Francis Ebejer Scriptwriting Competition ✍️ this play captures the heart of a changing society grappling with its own identity.
