For over six centuries, one mysterious book has captivated the imagination of cryptographers, historians, linguists, and curious minds alike: the Voynich Manuscript.
Filled with strange botanical drawings, cryptic symbols, and bizarre cosmological charts and written in an as-of-yet undeciphered script not seen anywhere else ,it defies all explanation.
Is it a lost language? An ancient code? A masterful hoax? Or something else entirely?
The presentation will explore some of the many attempts made to decode the manuscript from early cryptanalysts and medievalists to the latest advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Along the way, Prof. Abela and Dr Layfield will share highlights from their own research into the structure and patterns within the text, offering fresh insights and data-driven theories that could bring us a step closer to unraveling its meaning.
