- **Event Description**: Local scientists turn their research into comedy in a fun show bringing fascinating discoveries to life through stories and humour.About this EventThe Peer-Reviewed Punchline is a bold, unique performance where science meets comedy…over a couple of drinks. Designed to challenge the “stiff” image of academia, this event transforms real research into an engaging, humorous show that is as enlightening as it is entertaining.Under the direction of theatre-maker Malcolm Galea, three Maltese researchers - James Ciarlo`, Marie Claire Gatt and Sarah Schembri - will step out of their comfort zones and into the spotlight to present to you the behind-the-scenes of active research; Why (oh, why?!) do we want to ask questions? What is it like to collect data on a remote research station for weeks? How do we face climate conspiracies and poor policies?Join us at Offbeat Music Bar to discover the flesh and (funny) bones of scientific research and the regular humans who do it!And stay for the punchline - we’ll be testing your attention span with a fun pop-quiz after the show. We promise a lively, entertaining evening…and most certainly a drink or two!Who?Adults***************************************************************************************For more info check out our website.Tickets for all events click here.***************************************************************************************For regular updates follow our Science in the City social media pages:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ScienceInTheCityMalta/***************************************************************************************The Science in the City team invites your feedback!Share your views about the Festival and enter a prize draw!https://questionpro.eu/a/TakeSurvey?tt=zWt9BeLR%2BNZMXwoF19gY6w%3D%3DRegistration for this event will enroll you in an evaluation coordinated by the University of Malta to help us understand your views about the Science in the City 2026 festival. We ask you to complete a questionnaire both before and after attending the festival.
