First Session | Dreams, Symbols and the Unconscious | Thursday, 1 October 2026
The first session will examine the collective unconscious, archetypes, dreams, and symbols, asking what it means to inherit not only biology, but psychic patterns older than ourselves.

Second Session | The Hidden Self | Thursday, 8 October 2026
The second session turns inward, exploring the structure of the psyche through Jung’s concepts of the persona, shadow, anima and animus, and the process of individuation. Here, we confront some of the most challenging questions of human existence: Who are we beneath the masks we wear? What parts of ourselves have we disowned? And what does it mean to become whole rather than merely successful?

Third Session | Myth, Meaning and Modern Life | Thursday, 22 October 2026
The third and final session expands outward into Jung’s reflections on psychological types, synchronicity, myth, religion, and modern civilization. We will explore Jung’s view that contemporary life, for all its progress, has become dangerously disconnected from symbol, ritual, and depth - raising the question of whether modern man can survive without myth.

Blending philosophy, psychology, mythology, and cultural critique, this course is designed not only to introduce Jung’s ideas but to invite participants into dialogue with their own inner life. Through lecture, discussion, and reflective exercises, we will explore Jung not simply as a theorist, but as a guide to some of the oldest and deepest human questions:
Who am I?
What shapes me?
And what is trying to emerge through me?


About the Speaker
Gail Debono is a Senior Forensic Psychologist at the Correctional Services Agency in Malta, an EMDR therapist, and President of the Malta Chamber of Psychologists. She is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta and a PhD candidate researching trauma-informed correctional care. Her work focuses on trauma, rehabilitation, and the psychological processes that shape human behaviour. With a longstanding interest in philosophy, depth psychology, and the symbolic life of the psyche, Gail brings together clinical insight and philosophical inquiry to explore the enduring relevance of Carl Jung’s ideas on meaning, identity, and the unconscious.
