- **Event Description**: 🇬🇧 Rigid expectations of womanhood in Malta can intensify the experience of living with a neurodivergent brain, where pressure to appear composed often masks self-understanding.

This exhibition explores that tension. Through unedited disposable camera photography, ten ADHD AFAB individuals capture their internal landscapes. Their images function as layered meaning systems, revealing hidden personal narratives of milestones, sensory chaos, and a world that refuses to be filtered out.
A central visual metaphor is a rusty key on aged parchment in gothic ink, symbolising the unlocking of self-knowledge after an adult ADHD diagnosis. It represents reclaiming personal narrative and becoming the authority on one’s own lived experience.

Framed in Focus extends beyond the gallery as an act of neuro-inclusion and active citizenship in Malta, with six weeks of public events and workshops encouraging dialogue between participants and the wider community.


🇲🇹 L-aspettattivi riġidi tan-nisa f”Malta jistgħu jintensifikaw l-esperjenza tal-għajxien b’moħħ newrodiverġenti, fejn il-pressjoni biex wieħed jidher f’kontroll ħafna drabi taħbi l-fehim tiegħu stess.

Din l-esebizzjoni tesplora dik it-tensjoni. Permezz ta’ fotografija fil-kamera li tintuża darba biss u mhux editjata, għaxar individwi AFAB bl-ADHD jaqdu l-vjaġġi interni tagħhom. L-immaġnijiet jiffunzjonaw bħala sistemi ta’ tifsira f’saffi, li jikxfu narrattivi personali moħbija ta’ stadji importanti, kaos sensorju u dinja li ma taċċettax li tiġi eskluża.

Metafora viżiva ċentrali hija ċavetta msadda fuq parċmina antika b’linka gotika, li tissimbolizza l-ftuħ tal-awtogħarfien wara li adult jirċievi dijanjożi ta’ ADHD. Din tirrappreżenta l-persuna li tieħu lura n-narrattiva personali u ssir l-awtorità fl-esperjenza li tgħix hi stess.
