- **Event Description**: 🇬🇧 Firmament is a solo exhibition by the artist Ryan Falzon. Traditionally ‘firmament’ refers to the sky or the cupola surrounding earth, described as the dome that separates the earthly from the divine.

As inspiration, Falzon explores the visual and conceptual language of ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt, and Medieval esoteric illustrations. Furthermore, he uses the Flammarion etching as a direct reference point. This image depicts an inquisitive traveller stabbing into the veil of reality to uncover the inner workings of the cosmos.

This laceration exposes the human desire to transcend the physical and move beyond materiality, highlighting the inner turmoil and tensions driving the desire for transcendental states of being.  To depict this Falzon creates a new personal visual language through pictorial abstraction and a creative use of space, painting, and text.

Firmament is an open invitation to travel into a liminal space where the material and psychological realms converge.

F'dan il-korpus ta’ xogħol multidixxiplinari, li jinkludi pitturi, installazzjonijiet, u qari, Falzon jesplora u jinfed l-idea ta’ firmament stabbli u ordnat, filwaqt li jieħu ispirazzjoni viżwali u kunċettwali mil-Mesopotamja u l-Eġittu tal-qedem, illustrazzjonijiet esoterici medjevali, u referenzi diretti lejn l-inċiżjoni Flammarion. Din l-immaġni ikonika turi vjaġġatur kurjuż li jinfed it-tarf tas-sema, irrappreżentat bħala koppla ċelestjali solida, biex jara l-makkinarju moħbi tal-kożmos lil hinn minnu.
