Teatru Manoel and Malta National Opera proudly present Verdi’s final and most brilliant comic masterpiece Falstaff, a sparkling Italian opera brimming with wit, charm, and Shakespearean mischief.
Adapted by Arrigo Boito from The Merry Wives of Windsor and scenes from Henry IV, this operatic gem follows the bumbling yet endearing Sir John Falstaff as his schemes to seduce two married women for financial gain go hilariously awry.
First premiered at La Scala, Milan in 1893, Falstaff remains one of Verdi’s most sophisticated and joyful works, a celebration of human folly, friendship, and the sheer pleasure of laughter through music.
