Never seen Aditya perform before? - watch this: www.adityaguitarist.com/trailer/
______________

“We watched as his hands slid along the fret board, like ocean waves on a calm sunny day. The music was hauntingly beautiful, and the occasional thump on the guitar made Indian guitarist Aditya Gandhi’s performance, a thriller to watch”
-The Sunday Times

After a string of sold out concerts, Aditya Gandhi is touring India with his guitar and unconventional ideas, beginning with shows in his home state of Gujarat.

Does the idea of Beatles and Japanese music at the same time sound intriguing?
The core concept of the concert is to present unusual synthesis of musical style - to bring out a humorous and playful side of classical music. If you know what a classical music concert sounds like, you’re probably in for something new.

Humor in music is a bit different from what we are used to. Rather than punch lines and laugh-out-loud comedy, musical humor plays with the expectations of the listener. The program will give the audience the perfect mix of familiarity - a known tune, a common genre, an expected sound - and then distort those assumptions with something unexpected.

The program will also leap between various styles and origins, with music from Cuba, Scotland, Japan, France and Paraguay; presenting stories, dances, and some unusual expressions you may not expect in music.

About the Artist

Aditya Gandhi is a graduate of Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Bachelors of Music) and Chicago College of Performing Arts (Masters of Music) under world-renowned guitarist Denis Azabagic, and has performed across India, Sri Lanka, Scotland and United States. Most recently he has toured Sri Lanka as a part of GuitarFest 2017 performing 7 concerts in 6 cities, performed self-conceptualized ‘Nocturnal Concerts’ and ‘Iberian Nights’ in Ahmedabad, and multiple concerts in partnership with Alliance Francaise.

Aditya’s goal is to shake up the preconceived notions modern audiences have about 'art music’. He is a firm believer in the universality of music, and makes his concert as accessible and reflective of contemporary culture culture as possible.
