Basics of Macro Photography Workshop - Vadodara, May 2019
As a major conservation programme at Vadodara is the Nature Education Park, now popularly known as ‘Prakruti Udyan’ has been established in an area of 35 acres. The park is located in the ravines of Mahi River, about 16 kms from Vadodara, near village Sindhrot. The Park inter alia offers a forest for camping and multiple infrastructure for Nature study, Trekking, Photography, outbound training for Corporates, Bird watching and adventure activities. The park is very rich in terms of wide variety of flora and fauna. The Park has basic amenities for lodging and boarding. Library, a simple Conference Hall equipped with audio-visual equipment, amphitheatre and small Insect Museum. This is probably the only park of its kind at least in the state where one can learn about conservation methods and also about various aspects of nature. The Macro photography workshop will be held in this prestigious Nature Education Park, Sindhrot.

Carrying your macro lens is a primary need.
Carry fully charged batteries for your camera / flash.
Carry battery charger. Carry extra pack of camera batteries
Carry backup memory cards / HDD storage drives, Laptop
Boxer mantis, assassin fly, robberflies, jumping spiders of 3-4 varieties, lynx spiders, crab spiders, caterpillars, peacock pansy butterfly, common tiger butterfly, common leopard butterfly, lime butterfly, plain cupid butterfly, danaid eggfly, skipper butterflies, common jezebel butterfly, grasshoppers, praying mantis, pentatomid bugs of different varieties, damselflies, dragon flies, cuckoo wasp, paper wasp, other parasitic wasps, blue banded bee, orb weaver spider, giant wood spider, signature spider, plant hoppers, weaver ants, butterfly and bug eggs. Natural history moments are often seen at the park while at the field tours. We hope we may witness some during the field workshop.
Sutirtha Ray, is born in Kolkata and raised in a town called Habra, West Bengal. Academically he holds two Bachelor degrees, one in Chemistry and another in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of Calcutta. He is working in the field of Chemical Engineering since 2002 in different roles and currently in engineering design. Presently he is located in Vadodara, Gujarat. This talented photographer has developed interest in photography since a year and a half, his other interests are singing and playing guitar. His objective is to inspire the young and talented photographers in the field of Macro photography through DCP group. Sutirtha is associated with the group as Group Leader – Team DCP, Vadodara.
