Baroda By Cycle : Vadodara People's Heritage Festival

As a part of Vadodara People’s Heritage Festival, November 18-26, 2017, this year all of us will celebrate our city’s 507th ‘birthday’ and applaud its heritage during National Heritage Week with a series of exciting activities, informative exhibitions, heritage and nature walks, rickshaw tours, home museums, illustrated talks, and so on.
Remember, this is a People’s Heritage Festival, and if you think you have an interesting nugget regarding the heritage of Vadodara to share with the rest of us, just get on board!

One of the many activities during Heritage week is Cycling Tour of Killa-e-Daulatabad:

This tour on cycles charts the entire Walled City area in the four Darwazas.With four gates for entering the city, on the West was the Laheripura Gate, on the South was the Champaner Gate, on the East was the Pani Gate and to the South was the Gendi Gate. The centre of the city had the pavilion called the Mandvi. Nearby was the Old Sarkarwada, the original residence of the Gaekwads of Vadodara. Some of these historical places are intact, some are in history books now!

Participants have to ride their own cycles. On Saturday, November 25. Starting point is Mandvi pavilion.

Only 30 persons per tour.
Begins at 6.30 am. Distance - 4 kms
Registration Fees: 100 Rs. (includes heritage ride and breakfast)
Group Discounts available.

Rules :
1.) Riders have to bring their own bicycle. Helmets recommended.
2.) Riders have to carry their own water bottle, handkerchiefs, etc.
3.) This is non supported Group ride. All Riders have to follow all traffic rules.
4.) RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR: All riders are required to conduct themselves in a civil manner and abide by all applicable TRAFFIC LAWS AND REGULATIONS.

Organisers, it's representatives and their association, officials volunteers can not and don't accept any responsibility for any accidents that may occur during the course of night ride. All riders must accept their own responsibility and ride safe.

So, get your cycles out to ride along the Walled city!
