Fusion Utrecht 12 December - Sparkling Holidays
For this December edition we want to invite you to come as your most glittering sparkly selves. We will provide some glitter and sparkles to dress up but as always, come in a way you feel comfortable and free to dance.
𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻: Lene Van Steenwinkel: Embody the 5 elements — Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Ether — to drop deeper into your body and your (partner)dance. Each element holds its own rhythm, energy, and invitation.
🌿 EARTH grounds you in weight and trust — a return to instinct and presence
🌊 WATER flows through sensuality, emotion, and soft connection
🔥 FIRE invites dynamic expression — boundaries, powerplay, and boldness
🪽 AIR expands breath and connection — light, playful, and heart-opening
✨ ETHER opens us for subtle connection
In this elemental dance ceremony, inspired by ancient cultures and guided by dance therapist and anthropologist Lene Van Steenwinkel, we explore (partner) dance through the lens of the elements.
We’ll shift between solo embodiment and co-creative connection, allowing each element to inspire the way we move, lead, follow, and feel.

💸 Price:
It is €8 at the door via cash or QR Code. The door price is used for the space rental and other things related to the event. If the amount would keep you from coming then feel free to pay less or none at all.
☕ Refreshments:
There will be free water and tea available. You are welcome to bring your own snacks. No alcohol allowed.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲? If you are familiar with one or more couple dances and like to integrate and/or combine them with music-improvisation, in which you can determine by dance(partner) whether you lead, follow or interchange/switch, then you like fusion dancing! 😃
There'll be a wide array of music genres to get you dancing, from electronic to acoustic, evoking dance genres like blues, west coast swing, tango, balfolk, latin and more.
If it interests you, ask the organizers how you can participate. Maybe you want to teach a workshop, want to DJ or help out by managing a night, please let us know!
