Youth Haven is one of Stony’s supported mission partners. Their mission is to provide life-changing, Christ-centered experiences for disadvantaged children. Children come from all over to spend a week at camp and be taught about Jesus. Many of these children come from homes that are broken, hurting, or financially struggling. Often this week at Youth Haven is the highlight for these kids for their entire year. More can be read at https://www.youthhaven.org/

ABOUT THE TRIP:

Students who sign up to serve in this mission trip will be paired up with trained staff counselors to assist them through the week. You will act as an additional support for the counselor. This trip is highly relational in nature. The kids attending camp often come from rough backgrounds and are looking for positive, Christ-centered role models to look up to. Your friendship, guidance, and mentorship could be the representation of Jesus they need in their life!


HOUSING EXPECTATIONS:

You will stay in various cabins with the kids and a trained counselor. You will have great opportunity to connect with that counselor and the kids in that cabin. You will likely have at least 1 other SCS student in your cabin as well. 


TRAVEL PLANS:

We will leave together after church on Sunday July 19th (time TBD) and will return home Friday evening July 24 (Time TBD). It is likely we will travel in 1 or 2 large vans. The trip is only about 2 hours away.

AFTER REGISTRATION:

After we assemble the team (expected about 10-16 students) we will begin to have a couple meetings to go over more details and plan for the trip. These will be scheduled starting with Tuesday April 21 at 7:00PM. Future meetings will be determined after that first meeting.
