Auditions are Saturday, April 18th from 10am-3pm.

Rehearsals will be 2-2.5 hours in the evenings 3-4 times a week, with some weekend rehearsals as we get closer to performance. Rehearsal times will be finalized based on cast conflicts. Rehearsals will begin in the first week of May (first read through may be earlier than that). 

We will be casting a full cast and understudy cast, and the understudy cast will have rehearsals and a guaranteed performance. 

Play Description:

Come along for a funny, fast-paced romp through the masterpieces of Jane Austen with The Complete Works of Jane Austen, Abridged. Three actors take on all of Austen’s beloved heroines, friends, and love interests – and her incisive social satire – in just 80 minutes. But when they lose a cast member, the two remaining Janeites must teach an understudy about her work. It is a truth universally acknowledged that an audience in possession of high spirits must be in want of a ticket to this big-hearted comedy that will delight Austen fans and newcomers alike.

ROLE BREAKDOWN: (Roles will be shifted to the names of actors during production but for the sake of differentiating the roles as they appear in the script)

CHARACTER Descriptions: 

All roles are open to all ages and ethnicities. 

Trevor: An eager actor, he might not know much about Austen, but he knows that they need an Actor and he is READY. A good sport, curious.  

Jessica: She thinks Pride and Prejudice is the best (and has read the rest of Austen); a romantic who loves love, and the BBC adaptation of P+P. Very enthusiastic. 

Charlotte: A dedicated Austen lover, her favorite is Persuasion. Funny, grounded, and determined.

TO AUDITION:  Please prepare the sides for the characters you are interested in and be prepared to perform them. We will have hard copies available at the theatre.  We will have callbacks on Sunday from 9-11am (let us know if you can't make that).
