In 1968, he published his first book, The Johnstown Flood. Graced by his remarkable gift for writing richly textured, sympathetic social history, The Johnstown Flood is an absorbing, classic portrait of life in nineteenth-century America of overweening confidence of energy, and of tragedy.  

Our discussion will take place on Tuesday, January 27th at 6:30 pm in the church hall. We have books that are now available at the back of the church. We hope you can join us!
