- **Event Description**: As Wyandot County families prepare for holiday festivities and respiratory illness season arrives, Wyandot County Public Health is offering several opportunities in December for the public to protect themselves and loved ones against severe flu and COVID-19 illness through vaccination.

Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are available by appointment on Mondays and Fridays at Wyandot County Public Health, 127-A S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, and may be scheduled by calling 419-294-3852. Flu and COVID-19 vaccines will also be offered at Wyandot County Public Health on the following Walk-In Wednesdays: Dec. 3, 10, and 17. The Dec. 3 and 10 clinics are open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic on Dec. 17 is 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Note that Walk-in Wednesdays will not be offered on Dec. 24 or 31 due to holiday closures. 

Those who intend to be vaccinated should bring insurance cards with them. Reduced cost vaccines may be available to individuals who are uninsured or underinsured.

Wyandot County Public Health is offering the 2025-2026 thimerosal-free trivalent flu vaccine and the 2025-2026 Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 6 months and older. High-dose flu vaccines are available for individuals ages 65 and older.

Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive their vaccines. Children may attend vaccination clinics with other guardians with a completed vaccines for minors consent form available at wyandothealth.com/forms/. Other guardians should bring identification with them at the time of the appointment.

While vaccination is the first and most crucial step in preventing respiratory illness, everyday preventive actions such as staying home when sick, staying away from those who are sick, covering coughs and sneezes, frequent proper handwashing and masking in public spaces when ill remain important protective factors for our community.
