“Homefront Dispatches: Stories from The Monitor,” a local exhibit curated by the Upland Historical Society, presenting original newspaper articles and images that capture how Upland experienced the Great War—from enlistments and letters to community drives and remembrance.

Opening Ceremony Highlights:

Posting and retiring of the colors by Taylor University Army ROTC

Playing of the National Anthem

Singing of "God Bless America"

Invocation and benediction by the Marion VA Hospital Chaplain Barry Malone

Remarks by Indiana State Representative Lori Goss-Reaves

Following the ceremony, the Upland Depot will be open for tours of both exhibits. Enjoy free snacks and refreshments as you explore how the Great War touched lives in small-town Indiana and across the world.
