Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now integral in electronic health records, search engines, and clinical tools. While big promises are being made about how AI can transform healthcare, ultimately, it is just a tool and not a replacement for trained clinicians.
 
Nurses can approach AI as they would any other tool, whether it be an analog scale or a digital blood pressure cuff—with a critical eye and intentional use. You’ll learn what AI is and what it isn’t. You’ll discover insights to boost your confidence about using AI, and gain insights in when not to use AI tools.
 
You’ll come away with a better understanding of how your nursing skills and reasoning abilities are your allies as you critically appraise and intentionally use AI tools.

About Our Speaker

Uba Bačkonja
Our speaker, Uba Bačkonja, PhD, MS, RN, is engaged in nursing research addressing health informatics, data visualization, and AI. She is a consumer health informatics researcher at the MITRE Corporation working on developing health technologies.

Registration is free of charge to all WSNA members.
