This is the second year we've gathered at Elder Creek for Samhain — the old new year, the feast at the threshold, the night when the darkness earns its place at the table.

We'll make besoms if you want one ($5, materials provided). 
We'll ride out to the fire. 
We'll break bread together, remember who we've lost, and be grateful for what the year has stripped away and what it's given us in return.

I'll read something I wrote — a small story for the threshold, for the ones who came before. Bring something of your own if you're moved to share it.

There's no script for the evening. Just fire, good company, warm cider, and the kind of conversation that only happens when the leaves are down and the dark comes early.

Bring yourself. Bring someone you love. Bring a name you want to say out loud by the fire.
