Verwurzelt in den ansteckenden Rhythmen des Funk sind Umbos dynamische DJ-Sets und vielfältige Produktionsarbeit ein reiches Geflecht, das von Soul-, Jazz-, Latin- und Afrobeat-Einflüssen verwoben ist. Sein charakteristischer, eklektischer Stil, geboren aus einer tiefen Wertschätzung für Disco und globale Grooves, hat ihn zu einem gefragten Künstler gemacht, der zu gemeinsamen Bühnen mit einer beeindruckenden Liste bekannter Namen geführt hat, darunter Dimitri aus Paris, Marshall Jefferson, Ollie Teeba (Kräuterkunde), Andy Smith (Portishead), Supa Dj Dmitry (Deee-Lite), Ian Pooley, DJ Vadim, Smoove usw.
Umbos Musik hat international Anklang gefunden und wurde häufig in der renommierten "Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show" auf BBC6 gespielt – ein Beweis für sein Gehör für fesselnde Klänge. 
Seine Produktionsreise begann 2008 mit der Veröffentlichung der EP "Dirty" bei Timewarp Music, was den Beginn einer umfangreichen Veröffentlichung von Originalstücken, Remixen und Edits für eine Vielzahl angesehener Labels wie Resense, Breakbeat Paradise Records, Soul Flip, Goodgroove Records, Wack und Katakana Editions markierte.
Von 2007 bis 2011 war Umbo auch Produzent und DJ Mitglied der Band „Dogo Argentino“. Er erkundete weiterhin neue Gebiete und gründete 2018 gemeinsam die Jazzband "The Morenos", die bereits auf dem Donaufest 2024 live zu Gast war.
