We at Josh Talks, in collaboration with Facebook, are hosting our sixth event of the year on the 4th of February in Udaipur. This day-long conference cuts across genres to bring you incredible stories of gritty people who will surely be your next role models. Our line-up features Rajasthan's youngest skater and recipient of the National Children Award 2017, a tea-seller by profession who was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contest his college elections, and a leading counseling psychologist known for her work in the field of suicide prevention, among other exciting personalities.
Here is the speaker lineup of Josh Talks Udaipur 2018:
1. Rahul Dubey - Social Changemaker
Delhi youth Rahul Dubey signed up for a three-week unpaid rural internship in 2012 at Kherwara, a tribal village in Udaipur district in Rajasthan. What he saw there made him stay on and be the change for this village.
2. Labdhi Surana - Rajasthan's Youngest Skater
Labdhi Surana is a National Gold Medalist in the field of roller skating. She has garnered accolades and won several medals in the national as well as international circuits.
3. Pawan Das Vaishnav - Lawyer & Tea Seller
The youngest of five brothers, Pawan Das Vaishnav has been helping his father with the tea stall business for over a decade now. He was backed by ABVP in his college elections.
4. Preeti Solanki - Beauty Pageant Contestant & Judge
Preeti Solanki won Mrs. India Talented Queen of Substance in 2016 by Adiva. One thing led to another and she was chosen to represent India in Mrs. United Nations, the most prestigious international pageant, in the same year.
5. Kapil Sharma - Social Entrepreneur
In 2009, Kapil Sharma started Five Splash in Udaipur with an aim to bridge the gap between what's required in the industry and what is being offered to them. The BPO service provider has employed over 200 people since and has expanded to Jodhpur and Ajmer as well.
6. Dr. Shikha Sharma - Psychologist
Dr. Shikha Sharma is a prominent psychotherapist and counseling psychologist. Dedicated to sharing her knowledge and compassion with others, Shikha blends intuitive wisdom with solid understanding, creating a powerful holistic approach.
7. Priyansh Paliwal - Musician
Priyansh Paliwal is an independent singer from Udaipur. He has done numerous Bollywood music covers, the most noteworthy being Bezubaan from the film Piku which garnered many hits and also received praise online from superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
8. Jay Kumar - Masterchef Contestant & Restaurant Owner
Jay Kumar has been whipping up egg dishes for close to 25 years at the famous stall called The Egg World. He claims to have invented around 50 egg dishes.
9. Kavita Joshi - Sarpanch
By her hard work and dedication, Kavita Joshi has made Sobhapura the most progressive village in Rajasthan. She teaches several young women who were barred from studies by their families.
10. Durriya Kapasi - Cancer Survivor & Published Author
Durriya Kapasi is a bestselling writer, creative writing teacher, motivational speaker and cancer survivor. Her debut novel Once Upon a Genie was released in March 2017 by prominent Delhi-based publisher Half Baked Beans.
11. Manoj Prajapat & Surendra Gandharva - Restaurateurs/Owners - Millets of Mewar
Manoj Prajapat and Surendra Gandharva believe in the power of food to inspire good health, good conversation, and environmental consciousness. Their restaurant Millets of Mewar is ranked the number 1 restaurant in Udaipur on Trip Advisor.
12. Lokesh Bhil - Visually Challenged Rajasthan Board Topper
Lokesh Bhil lost his sight at the tender age of three. The loss of his sight did not deter him from chasing his dreams as he aced the Rajasthan Boards.
13. Taj Mohammed Rangrez - History Teacher & KBC Winner
Taj Mohammed Rangrez became the first contestant to win 1 crore in season 7 of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He used part of his prize money to fund the marriage of two orphaned girls.
14. Tulsi Dangi & Dharma - Lady Patrol Squad
Tulsi Dangi and Dharma are members of India’s first all-women patrol squad in Udaipur, Rajasthan. They are conscientiously maintaining a vigil at places frequented by women and girls – schools, colleges, malls and other public spaces – to provide them with a sense of safety.
