Glyn Harper went to Glasgow University in 1975 and lived in the city’s West End - the time and setting for the majority of his novels, Love’s Long Road and Silent Money.

He also worked in Russia and Ukraine for ten years, which inspired the plot and setting for A Friend in Deed.

He now lives in East Sussex, just over the border from Kent, the setting for his historical novels, The Maids of Biddenden, set in the 12th century and Arden, set the 16th century.

He became a full-time author in 2016 and has been a winner in the historical fiction category of the 2024 Indie Book Awards, the largest international awards programme for indie authors and independent publishers, and shortlisted for the 2023 Selfies Award at the London Book Fair.
