Angela Rudrum is a fully independent bitting consultant with 35 years experience in the industry and is running sessions 11.30am-5.30pm on Monday 22nd June. 

Then join us at 5.30pm in Crockstead's Dedbest Distillery for Angela's group demonstration; a showcase on how different bits, bridles, and contact methods affect a horse's comfort and performance in order to help riders identify mouth discomfort, correct training evasions, and choose the most suitable equipment for your horse. 

Contact equinebittingsolutions@gmail.com to secure your appointment. A £50 deposit is required at booking, which is deducted from your total on the day. Payment by cash or card, including contactless, is accepted.


Day Session Booking Option 1: Standard Bit Fitting, £75 per horse
A thorough, unhurried session typically lasting 1 to 2 hours. Angela will start with a detailed assessment of your horse, examining the mouth, facial conformation and bridle fit, and will take time to discuss your concerns alongside any input from your trainer, physio, chiropractor or dentist. She'll then watch your horse being ridden in their current bit, assessing their way of going, any evasions or signs of discomfort, and identifying the key areas to address.

From there, she'll select one or more suitable bits for your horse to try. You'll ride in each one and Angela will talk you through exactly what's changed and why, so you leave not just with a better bit, but with a real understanding of the difference it's making.

For double bridle bits, please enquire. A £25 fee applies if a bit for a different discipline is required.

Booking Option 2: Premium Bit Fitting with Correctional Training, £85
Everything included in the standard consultation, with the addition of personalised, hands-on coaching throughout the session. This option is particularly valuable if you're dealing with contact issues, schooling challenges, or inconsistency, or if you'd like expert support riding your horse correctly in the new bit from day one.

You'll work on rider position, effective aids, and horse and rider balance, leaving with practical improvements you can build on straight away. Nervous, young, green or more challenging horses are always very welcome.
Angela will assess your horses mouth, facial conformation and bridle fit, along with discussing your concerns, dental history, issues highlighted by your trainer/physio/chiropractor. She will discuss the issues you are experiencing under saddle and what you’d like to change.

Your horse is then ridden in their usual warm up routine in their current bit so Angela can assess the evasions/issues the horse is exhibiting, way of going, and signs of being uncomfortable. She then selects an appropriate bit and the horse is ridden again and she talks about the changes made and how the rider has felt an improvement. You may try a further bit or two to help the rider get a better feel for when the horse has improved significantly.
