Anyone who believes youth sports matter and wants to help create an outstanding sports experience for children 4K through 12th grade in our community, including: • Parents • Coaches • Student-athletes • School administrators • Youth sports organizations • Officials • Booster clubs • Recreation volunteers • Community leaders • Local businesses • Anyone passionate about developing young people through sports Why Attend? Youth sports are about much more than wins and losses. They build confidence, character, leadership, resilience, friendships, and healthy lifestyles that last a lifetime. Across the country, participation in youth sports is declining—especially among girls and middle school students. Now is the time for our community to come together and create a shared vision for the future. We will strive to align youth sports programming across Parks and Rec, non-profits, and schools to provide consistent positive experiences across all ages. This summit will begin the development of a Community Youth Sports Strategic Plan that will help shape the future of youth athletics in Two Rivers for years to come. Together, we'll identify opportunities to: • Strengthen continuity between schools, recreation programs, community organizations, and families to keep kids in sports • Increase participation in youth sports • Create a positive and supportive sports culture • Recruit and develop outstanding coaches • Improve communication and collaboration among organizations • Increase opportunities for girls and underserved youth • Reduce barriers to participation • Build leadership through athletics What to Expect This will be an interactive, engaging evening—not a lecture. Participants will: • Learn about current youth sports trends and challenges • Celebrate what's already working well in Two Rivers • Share ideas and experiences • Participate in facilitated small-group discussions • Help identify priorities for improving youth sports • Begin creating a community vision for the future • Network with coaches, parents, volunteers, and community leaders Every voice matters, and everyone will have an opportunity to contribute. Our Goal To create one shared vision for youth sports that puts kids first and establishes Two Rivers as a community recognized for providing an exceptional youth sports experience.
