Guided by artist and facilitator George Lottermoser, you’ll slow down, become present, and explore what happens when body, mind, and spirit come together in a simple act of creation. From grinding the ink and choosing your brush and paper to making your Ensō, each part of the process becomes an opportunity to quiet the thinking mind and connect with your own creative energy.

There is no artistic experience needed and no “right” way for your Ensō to look. Each circle is a unique expression of your state of being in that particular moment—sometimes quiet, sometimes powerful, sometimes unexpected.

This is more than an art class. It is an opportunity to experience creativity as a form of meditation, self-expression, and connection with yourself.

About George Lottermoser
George Lottermoser is an artist, photographer, designer, educator, and longtime facilitator of creative experiences. He holds a BFA and has spent more than five decades working in visual arts, including careers in photojournalism, graphic design, art direction, and photography.

George taught Visual Design for Interactive Multimedia at Columbia College Chicago for a decade and has designed and facilitated Creative Encounters since 1989. His fine art has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the Midwest and has received numerous awards.

Class fee: $30 per person. Class size is limited to 10 participants.

Tickets may be purchased online or in person at Awakened Lakeshore during storefront hours. To avoid online ticketing fees, purchase your ticket in person.

Refunds are available up to 3 days before the class. Because space is limited, we’re unable to offer refunds within 3 days of the event.
