Ellensburg Dance Ensemble invites dancers ages 6-adult to audition for our original full-length ballet adaptation of The Little Prince. This enchanting production blends ballet, lyrical, tap, and creative storytelling to bring the beloved tale to life on stage.

Audition Date: Saturday, January 10, 2026

Time: 2pm ages 6-9; 3pm ages 10-adult

What We’re Looking For:
Dancers with passion, imagination, and a spirit of collaboration. All studios and community members welcome—no EDE enrollment required.

About the Show:

Directed by Serena Scheffer-Arango, creator of EDE's productions, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and The Nutcracker & The Battle for the Key, this new performance blends classical technique with modern theatricality for a magical, family-friendly spring performance season.

Audition Expectations & Preparation:

Dancers should arrive early to warm up and prepare for a ballet-based audition, including center work and across-the-floor combinations.
Pointe dancers should bring their pointe shoes and be ready to demonstrate technique.
Some dancers may be asked to demonstrate character movement or tumbling.
Be prepared to learn and perform short choreography sequences.
Wear appropriate dance attire (leotard, tights, ballet shoes or pointe shoes as applicable).
Rehearsal Schedule:

Rehearsals begin the weekend of January 17 and will be held:

Saturdays: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM 
Sundays: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM  
Some solo rehearsals for advanced dancers may be scheduled on weeknight evenings.
**Rehearsals will take place the weekend after Spring Break and no absences will be approved after 24th. **
Performance Dates: May 21-24, 2026
Tech Week: Begins May 17 (all dancers must be available all week for rehearsals and shows)

Production Fees & Discounts:

A $25 production fee helps cover the cost of costumes and other production expenses.
Dancers who help find show sponsors equal to or higher in value will have their production fee waived.
Dancers who participated in 'Twas have their production fee waived.
Dancers who participate in a show recieve a 10% discount on attending classes at EDE (discounts cannot be stacked with other class discounts)
