Think you’ve got what it takes to build a boat out of cardboard… and actually make it across the water?! 😅
This crowd-favorite event is shaping up to be one of the wildest and most entertaining parts of Liberty Fest!

📦 BOAT RULES:
• Materials will be provided
• Use only the cardboard and duct tape provided
• Entire boat CANNOT be fully covered in duct tape
• Minimum dimensions: 4 ft long × 2 ft wide × 1 ft high
• Decorations are encouraged 🎨
• Paint/glue must be water-based only
• NO epoxy, wax, or oil-based sealants
• Paddles will NOT be provided-create your own!
• Life jackets are REQUIRED for all racers (not provided)
• This is NOT a demo derby 🚫💥
Some contact may happen, but intentionally damaging another boat = disqualification

🏁 EVENT FORMAT (subject to change based on participation):
We’re aiming for 20 boats in each category!

Competition Groups:
👦 Kids 12 & under
🛶 Adults (includes ages 13+)
👨‍👧 Parent/Junior Combo (junior 12 & under)

• Heat races with 5 boats each
• Winners advance to the finals
• One championship final race per division
• Awards for Top 4 in each category 🏆
• PLUS “Crowd Favorite” awards in every division

📍 BOAT BUILD PICKUP DAY:
🗓 June 14
📍 Lakewood School
⏰ 8:00 AM – Noon

Past racing champions will be onsite with templates and design tips to help you build your masterpiece… or disaster 😂

Largest cardboard sheet size: 4 ft × 8 ft
(Folding is allowed!)

🌊 RACE DAY:
📍 Aquanut Pier – Lake Mary
🕓 Preliminary/Heat Races begin at 4:00 PM
🏁 Final races around 7:00 PM before fireworks
