Add a dash of film noir and nouvelle vague movie themes, a few cheekily re-imagined French pop tunes from the 60s, plus original material from their upcoming album – and you have the perfect recipe for a night of charm, nostalgia and sheer joie de vivre.At the centre of it all is the Parisian-born Fifi la Mer, whose warm, dusky voice and evocative accordion will transport you to that little café near the Eiffel Tower. Partnered by the brilliant Oliver Wilby on clarinet (and, when the mood changes, on sizzling saxophone), they take us from cobbled-street romance to the buzz of a Pigalle jazz club.
