Join us for our December reception on Saturday December 6 from 4-6 pm, the gallery will provide a light dinner, and we will also be sponsoring a cookie exchange. If you would like to participate, please bring a minimum of 2 dozen unique cookies, preferably homemade. Make your grandma’s famous shortbread cookies or your dad’s favorite holiday cookies. We will provide small containers for those participating to take home some cookies for the family. We will also have a gallery Christmas Tree and would like to encourage our members to create ornaments for sale. There will be no intake fee for the ornaments, but the normal 35% commission will still go to the gallery. Please make sure your ornaments are small enough to fit on a regular size tree and they must have a hanger of some sort. Intake will be Monday December 1, 2025 from 10am to 1pm.
The West Gallery will feature oil, acrylic, and mixed media paintings by the three Twentynine Palms residents of dogs, horses, donkeys, lizards, and other animals of the desert--Ted Meyer, Anna Stump, Chuck Caplinger. Their approach to painting animals ranges from respectful depictions of grace and beauty, to comical flights of fancy involving creatures flying through the desert skies. They are friends and work well together. Meyer and Stump have recently adopted a blind pony named Buttercup and two donkeys, Milton and Stanley, who will no doubt feature heavily in the exhibition.
In additional to our Featured Artists in the West Gallery, the Member’s Gallery and the East Gallery will be dedicated to member’s artwork. The Member’s Gallery will be open as usual to members wanting to put their art up for sale. The East Gallery will feature holiday themed art, whatever holiday you celebrate in December will be welcomed.
