Costa Rica is 13,000ft at its highest point and on average only 90miles wide so it is hard to avoid at least one steep climb most of the time. .Several of our excursions will take us on rural agricultural roads which are some of our favorite for biking because the views are expansive around you because you are not covered by the forest. Agriculture is done in valleys or on the side of the rolling hill and biking around the sugar-cane, coffee, and banana plantations offers a unique experience with great scenery looking down or up. During this time of year the coffee crop is in harvest so you will likely see those working in the fields picking the coffee beans and filling up their baskets.The way down is a curvy ride with great views of the valley of Turrialba below and the smoking Volcano to your back.
