Coyote Young can be considered a Boston band but is a bit scattered, with one member from Providence and one from Worcester. Coyote Young was originally born in 2023 as coworkers that just wanted to jam, but has snowballed into a group with a strong song catalog. The style we play stems from influences of rock, punk, post-punk, new wave, shoe-gaze, indie, noise, fuzz, experimental, pop and goth genres. This makes our catalog in some ways eclectic, but cohesive in feel.
Early influences include Nirvana, Iggy Pop, The Ramones, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Dinosaur Jr., The Pixies, and The Doors, which are foundational to our sound.
We constantly try to discover new music, exploring Spotify, Tiny Desk Concerts, KEXP, and Boston College radio. This all serves to further expand how we view and write music.
