Conan Amok is a choreographer, artist, and body researcher whose work centers on the concept of the Multi-Layered Body, redefining the body as a dynamic field of forces. He spent eleven years with Dairakudakan under the direction of Akaji Maro, where he deeply absorbed their practice before critically reworking and deconstructing Butoh methodology.

Working across dance, Butoh, and visual art, Conan Amok has developed an original approach to the body—not as a vehicle for expression, but as a generative structure shaped by the interaction of gravity, pressure, friction, and torque. His research articulates how muscular, neural, mnemonic, and spatial layers interact to produce intensity.
