SANAD: Assistive Technologies for Human Dignity is a one-day humanitarian technology event organized by the IEEE SIGHT Tunisia Section Group , in partnership with the IEEE Sup’Com Student Branch. The event is dedicated to showcasing how technology can serve as a powerful enabler of accessibility, inclusion, and human dignity for people with disabilities.
SANAD brings together engineers, researchers, students, and humanitarian actors through a dynamic program that includes keynote addresses, a panel discussion, hands-on technical workshops, and a student technical challenge. These activities are designed to inspire innovation while encouraging the development of impactful, affordable, and user-centered assistive technology solutions that address real-world needs.
Under the theme “Assistive Technologies for People with Disabilities,” the event emphasizes the design and implementation of human-centered technologies that enhance autonomy, promote social inclusion, and improve quality of life for individuals with disabilities. SANAD also highlights the ethical and social dimensions of engineering, reinforcing the responsibility of technologists to create solutions that leave no one behind.
