Pixan (pronounced pee-SHAHN) is the Yucatec Maya word for the eternal soul, the part of you that exists before birth, survives after death, and carries the memory of every life you have ever lived. The ancient Maya understood that each human being carries two spirit forces: the Pixan, the forever soul that was placed inside you as a gift from the gods at the moment you were born and the Ool, the breath of life, the vital force that animates the body and governs your will and emotions. When you experience fear, trauma, grief, or shock, the Ool can fracture or flee the body, leaving you feeling like a shell of yourself, powerless, unable to move forward. 

In Mayan medicine, this soul loss is not a metaphor. It is a condition and it must be healed. The Maya believed that each Pixan carries specific strengths and specific wounds that shape who we become, and that when the body dies, the Pixan travels along sacred serpent pathways to the other world and returns along those same pathways when it is ready to reincarnate and enter the womb again. 

The Pixan Rites are seven initiations designed to call your fragmented soul back into your body but to heal what caused the Ool to flee, to honor the Pixan that has traveled lifetimes to arrive here, and to restore the wholeness that was always yours. Cacao Ceremony – A heart-opening ritual that awakens remembrance and invites ancestral guidance.

Indigenous Ceremony – Honoring the four directions, the elements, and the keepers of the land.

Mami Wata Water Blessing – Enter the crystalline womb of the Earth for a sacred water blessing. Through prayer, breath, and ritual, you will release ancestral heaviness into the waters and receive purification, renewal, and blessing.

The Pixan Rites – Receive seven sacred transmissions born from the landscape of the Yucatan and the ancient Mayan cosmology that awaken your soul body, heal your lineage, reclaim your shadow, and reconnect you to the wild, radiant self that lives beneath the armor.

Shamanic Breathwork – A powerful breath-led journey that opens doorways to past life memory, ancestral realms, and the hidden landscapes of the subconscious. This is not gentle breathing — it is a ceremonial descent into the body’s deepest knowing.

Yoga, Breathwork, and Meditation – Daily practices for grounding, release, and heart-opening presence.

Sound Healing – Vibrational therapies for restoring harmony, clarity, and energy flow. We will be infusing the healing effects of water and sound together offering Pool Sound Baths as well.

Cenote Water Blessing Ceremony – Receive the blessing of the Mami waters in a sacred ceremony, entering into ritual purification and rebirth with breath, movement, & sound with beautiful landscapes. 

The Yucatan Jungle is also home to ancient depictions of Ixchel, the Mayan Moon Goddess, guardian of cycles, intuition, and the feminine mysteries, whose presence infuses this coastline with her medicine.

ACCOMMODATION & NOURISHMENT
Stay in a serene eco-lodge surrounded by jungle in a Yucatan Mayan Village an hour inland from the Tulum Beaches.
The eco-lodge kitchen offers healthy, locally sourced options, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free meals. (Other meals not included in the retreat price, allowing flexibility.)
