- **Event Name**: VISIONS: Let Your Camera Do the Talking
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 22 Aug, 2026 at 10:00 am – Fri, 25 Sep, 2026 at 01:00 pm (-05:00)
- **Event Description**: A Photography, Collage & Creative-Expression AdventureAbout this EventEveryone Has Something Worth Expressing. What if an ordinary photograph could reveal a memory, feeling, story, or creative direction you had never noticed before?VISIONS is a hands-on, two-hour creative experience from the EMOSY Community Arts Initiative at Tulsa Stained Glass. It uses something almost everyone already carries—a cell phone camera—to help you notice your world, discover what matters to you, and turn those discoveries into meaningful works of art. This is not about becoming a professional photographer or accomplished artist. It is about learning to see differently.Bring Your Pictures. Bring Your Camera. Bring Your Story.Students bring their cell phone camera, printed copies of photographs, and something even more important—a little curiosity.Your photographs might represent a person, place, memory, feeling, texture, color, shadow, object, experience, dream, or completely unexpected discovery. You will explore why certain images attract your attention and how they can become the starting point for artwork with personal meaning. That sense of discovery is what VISIONS is all about.Your Hands-On ProjectStudents create an 8-by-10-inch canvas board complete with two eyelets and twine for hanging.Using photography, collage, mosaic-inspired techniques, meaningful words, decorative papers, textures, colors, and embellishments, you will transform your photographs into a finished piece of art that you can proudly display.Your VISIONS project may stand alone as artwork—or become the beginning of a future stained glass window, mosaic, collage, journal page, wall piece, or larger creative project. The techniques can be adapted to artwork of almost any size, material, or style.Learn the Five-Step EMOSY ProcessStudents are introduced to the five-step EMOSY creative process:EXPLORE • SKETCH • REFINE • DESIGN • SHAREThe process provides a simple pathway for moving from an idea to a completed project.Instead of getting stuck wondering, “What should I make?” or “Is this good enough?”, EMOSY encourages experimentation, discovery, decision-making, and completion.Students also learn how to use the 60 EMOSY prompts to generate ideas. The Goal Isn't Better Art. It's Meaningful Expression. For more than 50 years, Tulsa Stained Glass has watched people who said, “I'm not artistic,” discover the satisfaction of creating something meaningful with their own hands.VISIONS builds upon that experience. The purpose is not to judge artistic ability or make everyone's artwork look alike. The goal is to help participants become more comfortable exploring ideas, expressing themselves visually, completing projects, sharing stories when they choose, and becoming proud of what they create.First-Time Student BonusFirst-time VISIONS students receive a complimentary signed copy of Richard Bohm's Have Fun with Your Inner Artist. The book provides additional activities, prompts, and encouragement so your creative adventure can continue after class.More Than a Class—A Community Arts InitiativeVISIONS is also part of a larger idea. The EMOSY Community Arts Initiative is based on a simple belief:Art doesn't belong only to artists. Everyone has something worth expressing. Our community mission is to make approachable creative experiences available to people who might never enroll in a traditional art class.Come Explore With UsNo previous photography, collage, mosaic, drawing, or stained glass experience is required.Bring your pictures, your cell phone and your curiosity. Come ready to take pictures, make something meaningful, have fun and discover what your inner artist has been trying to show you. Then see where your VISIONS take you.Rage Room ExperienceAll classes include Rage Room smashing. Students are encouraged to write, draw or doodle an image of what makes them happy or sad on the dinnerware provided. In a symbolic gesture, the item is smashed to pieces, representing multiplied blessings or riddance of ill feelings. The Fine Print:• Closed toe shoes required. Glass or hot solder + feet = ouch! "description": "Tulsa Stained Glass offers unique events- crafting classes where students nurture their creative spirits while having a great time creating simple leaded or mosaic stained glass projects to take home and brag about. A project is called an “Emosy”, which is a creation of meaning using geometric shapes of varied color, shape and size. These entertaining 2-3 hour events are perfect for individuals, groups, date night, ladies' night out, and more. The Rage Room Experience is included in all events; inside glass smashing and outside sledge-hammer raging. In a symbolic gesture, dinnerware or other items are smashed to pieces, representing happiness multiplied or riddance of ill feelings.Hundreds of people around Oklahomahave experienced the awe-inspiring visual demonstration, the memorable fun music, and the unique theatrical storytelling from 50-year stained glass sensation, Richard Bohm. The three hour class is an original event, one of the most interactive and entertaining activities to ever grace the Art Event Center stage. The entire class comes to life when attendees scoop, assemble and solder, to make unique stained glass projects. As the music plays, pride emerges from the depths of indecision to produce a work of art like never before. Everyone is a winner, experiencing the joy of creativity and resulting in artistic self-confidence."
