The Master Gardeners will begin offering basic composting classes this Spring. The first class will be on Saturday, March 21st and the same class will be offered April 11th 2026.
This course is for EVERYONE interested in learning how to successfully compost at home.
Participants will:
· Gain a basic understanding of the composting process
· Be updated on current methods of composting (hot vs. cold)
using compost piles, bins, trenches, tumblers, and vermicomposting, etc.
· Learn what organic materials can be composted and how to utilize them for the best results
· Hear about ways to maintain and troubleshoot problems with compost
· Find out how to use your compost to amend your soil and improve your plants
Classes will:
· Be held from 10 am to noon at the OSU Extension Office
(4116 E. 15th Street, Tulsa, OK),
· Be taught by seasoned Master Composters,
· Cost $10
· Space is limited so register early
