Step into the neo-mythic mind of Nichole Montgomery, Tulsa-based mixed media artist and 2023 Oklahoma Visionary. LORE blurs the line between truth and tale—where some figures lived, others were conjured, all resurrected through Nichole’s unflinching, distorted lens. Drawing inspiration from her childhood in Oregon’s Mount Hood wilderness, extensive travels, military experience, and a vivid blend of personal memories—both bright and dark—Nichole merges ink, photography, digital techniques, paint pens, and mixed media into captivating works unlike anything else. Curious? Just reverse image search her creations.
This unconventional exhibit reshapes storytelling and memory, transforming familiar scenes into curious, dreamlike moments—each piece intimately personal, drawn from the imagination of a woman reflecting on life’s midway point.
