Pembroke Players rips open Shakespeare’s most famous tragedy and throws it into the raw, electric world of the 1990s/Early 2000s punk scene.
Addiction. Abuse. Guitars.
This Romeo & Juliet pulses with the chaos of youth, the hunger for escape, and the desperate beauty of first love on the edge.
Set to a soundtrack blending 90s and early 2000s punk anthems with Prokofiev’s haunting ballet score, this isn’t classroom Shakespeare—it’s loud, gritty, and heartbreakingly human.

Audition Details

Location: Tulsa Performing Arts Center

Audition Dates: December 6th at 12pm (Callbacks December 7th)

Performances: June 5th - June 14th, 2026

Prepare:
- A 1-minute monologue (Something from Shakespeare to show your capabilities with verse)
- There will be a dance call as this show is relying heavily on choreography.
- Wear clothing suitable for movement. No fear. No filters.

- Mercutio — Male-presenting
- Benvolio — Pre-cast (14M)
- All other roles open to any gender expression
- Movement required — think mosh pit meets Shakespeare.

The Apothecary — Street dealer; dirty, desperate, and deadly.

Lord & Lady Capulet — Manipulative and emotionally abusive, locked in a toxic cycle of power and control.

Lord & Lady Montague — Physically and emotionally abusive; denial and violence rule their home.

Benvolio — Innocent, caught between love and loyalty.
Plus a chorus of punks, addicts, ghosts, and dreamers—each one trying to survive the wreckage.
